After months of closure for renovations, Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport has reopened, resuming both domestic and international flights.
Ben Gurion Airport’s Terminal 1 has officially reopened, marking the end of extensive renovation and maintenance work that began in November 2024. The terminal resumed domestic flight operations on March 26, 2025, with international departures following on March 30, 2025.
The Israel Airports Authority (IAA) projects that Terminal 1 will handle approximately 1,377 departing flights in April, accounting for about 25% of the airport’s total outbound traffic. Airlines operating from Terminal 1 include El Al, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Arkia, and Israir. EasyJet is expected to resume flights to Israel in June.
The reopening comes as international airlines gradually resume flights to Israel, anticipating a surge in passenger traffic ahead of the busy holiday season. The IAA advises passengers to verify their departure terminal before traveling, as some airlines operate from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
In addition to operational enhancements, Terminal 1 now features an expanded duty-free store by James Richardson, offering a broader range of products and an improved shopping experience for travelers.
Passengers are encouraged to check the Israel Airports Authority website for the latest updates on flight schedules and terminal information.
